Adenium socotranum is one of the more rare varieties of ‘Desert Rose’. A native of Socotra island in the Indian ocean, this plant belongs to the Apocynaceae family. Its bulbous-shaped truck and twiggy branches make it identifiable. Growing up to 10 to 16 feet in height, this winter-dormant plant is one of the most beautiful succulent plants.

Growth Rate

The growth rate of Adenium socotranum is slow, but it reaches incredible heights. 

Flowering

This succulent plant blooms in a lovely pink color in the early spring season.

Desert rose plants do not need excess water. However, lack of water creates problems in their growth. They need weekly watering during summers. 

Soil

The desert rose thrives in well-drained soil.

This variety of succulents belongs to the hardiness zone of 10a to 11b and has a frost tolerance of 0° C (32° F).

Light

Adenium socotranum needs full sun to grow. When planted indoors, it needs a maximum of 6 hours of bright light.

The recline doesn’t go back as much as he would like, so it’s not ideal if you prefer to lean back and relax between tasks. Had for just over 9 years now and still pretty solid

I ordered this chair back in December 2015 for our front office, and it's been moved to our back shop where we fabricate. We're not a gentle work space by any stretch of the imagination; we build stuff and it's messy, lots of tools etc. This chair has held up surprisingly well! The faux leather is delaminating almost entirely on the seat but honestly, I'd expect that for faux leather on something that is used daily. The seat pad, in my opinion, has gotten de-poofed. So it's not plush anymore but still usable. I've asked the guy that's using it if they want an upgrade/update and they said they like it and don't want to change it out just yet. That's saying something! The size is nice and wide. We've had a range of differently sized folks sit in the chair over the years and the seat was always comfortable (less now without so much seat poof), I was able to sit cross-legged and the whole chair felt sturdy then as it does now. All of the standards functions you'd want an office chair to do, it can still do: it goes up and down smoothly, it rolls just fine, it's still pivot-reclines comfortably and doesn't feel like it's going to topple. I like it!
